National Circus of Cuba awarded at International Circus Festival of China.
National Circus Awarded... Festival Description: China Wuqiao International circus Festival—CWICF is named after the famous birthplace of acrobatics—Wuqiao, Hebei, which is a magnificent and comprehensive international meeting of circus and acrobats. CWICF is held in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province, only in odd years once every two years, generally in the last week of October or the first week of November since 1987. CWICF has become a splendid meeting place of acrobatics famous both in China and abroad. Every country who excells at acrobatics has sent acrobatic groups to participate in the festival. More than 30 countries and over 180 programs have appeared on the stage of CWICF, therefore the scale, the quality and the organizing methods of CWICF have all reached an international standard. CWICF promotes domestic and foreign exchange of acrobatics arts, and it has greatly influenced the world and has been honored with “The Oriental Acrobatics Racing Place of the Worldâ€. Performers from China, Russia, France, the United States, Germany, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Spain and other countries and regions will present 31 repertoires during the festival which will last for nine days. "Los Ovalerys" an acrobat's troupe integrated by eight men and a woman from Cuba were awarded with "The Silver Lion" at the 12th China Wuqiao International Circus Festival. They were also awarded during a Second Edition of Albacete Circus Festival in Spain. The National Circus of Cuba has been awarded recently in other prestigious contests Silver Acrobat for "Los Fernández" in Albacete, Spain. Third Place at Sweden Circus Festival for equilibrists trio "Andelille" it's performance was also recognized by Ringling Brothers Circus of United States. |
