Foreign Press appreciates historical and cultural attractions during Fitcuba 2010
More than a hundred journalists participating in the Fair International of Tourism FITCUBA 2010, appreciated  attractions of historical and cultural cities in Cuba.

From about thirty markets issuers, including Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Italy, Spain, Russia, China and Japan, visitors recognized the tourist potential and idiosyncrasy that distinguish the most Caribbean city of the island, Santiago de Cuba.

Santiago has a unique environment entry Bay, with typical furnishings of the colonial era and it's overflyed by aircrafts arriving or leaving the city just few meters from the Castle of San Pedro de la Roca, a World Heritage Site.

Journalists were also at the bar of Ron Caney, with a wide variety of national's drinks, at the popular Parque Cespedes, surrounded by architectural relics, and they enjoyed Cabaret Tropicana's show that ended with the Caribbean conga oriental.

During a brief stay on the outside of the former Moncada Barracks, some Journalists joined a football game with some youngs in the downtown plaza that ended with smiles, handshakes as part of an emotional exchange.

The familiarization tour of the foreign press with Santiago de Cuba during FITCUBA, ended on Sunday 9 with the presentation of new offers by the U.S. Havanatur trips and a visit to the shrine of El Cobre, in the town of that name with a rich history.

Julio Denegas, a journalist from Paraguay, said that this was his first visit to the country which long wanted to know the traditions and its people, while Fabio Heredia from Argentina, praised the cultural attractions of the eastern land, including music.

The Uruguayan Julio Cesar Debali, president of the Latinamerican Tourism Association of Journalists and writers, said that besides sun and beaches, Cuba has many other things like history, nature and culture as modalities seeking by vacationers. He said that tourists seek safe places and pointed out that this is the best value added of the island, in which he has been on several occasions.
