Bolivia, Argentina and Cuba's emerging Che Guevara's tourist route

Bolivia, Argentina and Cuba materialize a tourism project to promote the sites where the legendary guerrilla Ernesto Guevara spent his life, the Ministry of Culture informed.

From the initiative of the Argentine brothers we pretend to elaborate a multi-cultural tourism product integrating Argentina, Cuba and Bolivia, where Guevara was born, fought and died, said on Wednesday Marco Antonio Peredo, ministry official.

Delegates from the three countries will meet on May 28 in Bolivia to advance the project the paths of Che.

The circuit will include the Argentine cities of Alta Gracia (Cordoba), Caraguatay (Misiones), Rosario (Santa Fe) and San Martin de los Andes (Neuquén) where he spent childhood and adolescence.

In 1966, Guevara began in southeast Bolivia a guerrilla campaign and was captured and executed by the Bolivian army in October 1967.

In Bolivia, a tourist circuit with the path of Guevara in southeast's jungles  includes the village of La Higuera where he was executed and Valle Grande where his body was buried along with six other "guerrilleros" in a mass grave until 1997 when all were recovered and taken to Cuba.
