"Havana was founded in 1519 by the Adelantado Don Diego Velázquez, who called it San Cristobal de Cuba.
Its strategic position made it a transit place, both for the migrants
who set out to conquer the New World and of the riches, to Spain, using the protected harbor of Havana as a stopover. From the beginning stood out for its beautiful churches, squares and buildings, mainly in Baroque style.
Conservation in the historic center of many of these, built between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, the city earned the consideration of World Heritage granted by UNESCO in 1982.
A portion of the city's tourist attractions can be visited along the Paseo del Malecon, which connects the Port to the mouth of the Almendares.
It is the most representative of the population of Havana, who go there to enjoy the charms of the coast or to follow any of the typical festivities that are held throughout the year.
